CAEP Annual Reporting Measures

Annual Reporting Measures

As part of the CAEP accreditation process, every Education Preparation Provider (EPP) must report and prominently display data on its website relating to eight Annual Reporting Measures established by CAEP.  Please find a description of the Reporting Measures and St. Lawrence University's indicators below.

Measure 1: Impact on P-12 Learning and Development

Measure 1 is not available for external reporting due to a very small sample size (n=1 completer for 2020-2021), but K-12 student survey data continues to be collected and used internally to monitor the impact of completers on K-12 learning and development, and will be used to maintain program quality until the EPP closes the certification minor in Decenber 2022.

Measure 2:  Indicators of Teaching Effectiveness

Measure 2 is not available for external reporting due to a very small sample size (n=1 completer for 2020-2021), but the EPP assess teacher candidates with a student teacher evaluation and an interview portfolio evaluation that continues to be collected and used internally to indicate candidates’ teaching effectiveness.  These teaching effectiveness indicators will continue to be used to maintain program quality until the EPP closes the certification minor in December 2022.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Measure 3:  Satisfaction of Employers and Employment Milestones

Measure 3 is partially available.  The satisfaction of employers is not available for external reporting due to a very small sample size (n=1 completer for 2020-2010), but the EPP’s 2022 Alumni Survey was sent to completers after 1, 3, and 5 years out from completing the program. This survey collected data on reaching career milestones, such as completing three years of teaching, earning a master's degree, receiving tenure, or serving as department chair.  Given the larger sample size, employment milestone data could be reported in the aggregate, and is available below.

The outcomes profile of the Office of Institutional Research provides employment detail, graduate school enrollment, and degree information.

Measure 4:  Satisfaction of Completers

The Teacher Preparation Alumni Survey collects annually satisfaction measures from graduates one, three and five years out.  Given the very small sample size and response rate of our graduates for one year out (n=1 out of 7 graduates for the three survey years 2019-2021 combined), only the three and five years out data are reported in the aggregate below.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Measure 5: Graduation Rates

Measure 5 is not available for external reporting due to a very small sample size (n=1 completer for 2019-2020).  Furthermore, as a liberal arts institution, St. Lawrence University does not require students to declare a major until the end of their sophomore year. Due to this, retention and graduation rates are not available by academic program, but for the undergraduate student body as a whole.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Measure 6:  Ability of Completers to Meet Licensing and State Requirements for Certification

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Measure 7: Ability of Completers to be Hired in Education Positions for Which They Have Been Prepared

The Career Services Outcomes Profile captures employment, graduate school enrollment and salary information of alumni 7-9 month after graduation.  The Institutional Research Office also inquires National Clearinghouse records on graduate school attendance and post-baccalaureate degree completion.

Measure 8: Student Loan Default Rates and other Consumer Information

St. Lawrence University's Common Data Set information (Section H) and the Consumer Information Site provide information on cost and loan debt.  Official student loan cohort default rates are provided as a direct link below and are also posted on SLU's Consumer Information Site. Information on student loan default rate and other consumer information applies to all undergraduate students.
